This is a few hours late but I don’t care. These right here are my parents. My lovely mother and my sometimes lovely father. They have been married for almost 31 years(September 5th) their love for each other is extraordinary.. When my mom was 17(my age o:) she was diagnosed with hepatitis b. a very very bad auto immune disorder. She went to many many doctors and had many many surgeries. That doctors told her there was nothing more they can do and said she’d be lucky if she made it past 22. Her organs were failing rapidly but she made it. My dad knew of all of this and he said if she lives till tomorrow or lives until 100 i want to marry her. And it was so. At 28, transplants were introduced to her. She had a liver and kidney transplant that took the doctors 10 hours to preform! She was told the transplant may only keep her alive 10 years, and that she will never be able to have children and that it is far too dangerous for her body and a child’s. She was very upset at this. But 5 years later in 1995 I was born. Healthy and alive. I was a miracle birth. The first live, healthy, born baby of a dual transplant recipient. I was on the news and written in medical journals. Today, May 13th, 2012. My mommy turns 50 years old. She is still here with us. She is not very healthy and has to attend dialysis 3 times a week and is on an oxygen tank 24/7 almost(to all of you smokers, that’s what it does to you. My mother has emphysema from smoking. :/) Her kidneys no longer function properly and we are looking into another transplant. We keep her going. Everyday. If she didn’t have us I don’t think she would be alive right now. She is everything to me. I hate when she has to go into hospitals or have surgeries. It scares me. I hate that she struggles day to day and I know I’m hard to handle and I talk back. But I love her. She is my best friend. She knows what to say and how to say things. She is my therapist, my doctor, my bestfriend, my sister, and most importantly my mommy. Happy mothers day mommy. Thank you for surviving these years with me.
